Introduction
By downloading or using Intention (the “App”), you agree to be bound by these terms. Please read them before using the App.
Intention is made by Abhishek Chakraborty (“we”, “us”). It runs on iPhone with iOS 26 or later. There is no Intention account, and the App works without one.
What Intention does
Intention is a personal tool for capturing what you intend to do, planning when you mean to do it, setting deadlines and reminders, and marking intentions as completed, skipped, or discarded.
Intention does not guarantee that you will complete any task, meet any deadline, improve your productivity, or achieve any particular result. You remain responsible for how you plan and use your time.
User restrictions
You are granted a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to use the App on devices you own or control, subject to Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement.
You may not:
Copy or modify the App or any of its parts except where permitted by law
Remove or alter trademarks or notices
Attempt to extract or reverse-engineer the source code except where applicable law expressly permits it
Create derivative versions of the App
Rent, lease, sell, sublicense, or commercially redistribute the App
All rights in the App, including its design, trademarks, copyright, and other intellectual property rights, remain with us.
Your data
The intentions, notes, projects, and plans you create are yours.
Intention stores this information locally on your iPhone. We do not operate an Intention server containing a copy of your data.
How the App handles your information is described in the Privacy Policy.
Deleting the App may remove locally stored Intention data from your device. The App lets you export a backup file; keeping that file safe is your responsibility.
You are responsible for keeping a copy of any information you cannot afford to lose. We are not responsible for data loss caused by device failure, deletion, operating-system changes, App updates, backup or restore behaviour, or other events outside our control.
Reminders and notifications
If you give permission, Intention schedules local notifications for the reminders you set, and may show a count on the app icon.
Notification delivery depends on iOS, your device settings, Focus modes, notification permissions, battery state, and other system behaviour outside Intention’s control.
Reminders are a convenience only. Do not rely on Intention as the sole reminder for anything where missing a deadline could cause harm, financial loss, or another significant consequence.
You can turn notifications off at any time in the App’s Settings or in iOS Settings.
Connectivity
Intention works without an internet connection.
Internet access may still be used by Apple or your device for things such as downloading or updating the App, or Siri requests.
Your mobile or internet provider may charge for data used by those services. Those charges are your responsibility.
If you are not the bill payer for the device, make sure you have permission to use the App and any associated services.
Device compatibility
Intention is designed for supported versions of iOS on compatible iPhones.
We do not guarantee that the App will continue to work on every device or future version of iOS.
We advise against modifying or jailbreaking your device in ways that compromise iOS security. Doing so may affect the App’s reliability or prevent it from working.
Price and future changes
Intention is free, with no subscription, in-app purchases, or advertising.
We may change, add, remove, or redesign features over time.
If paid features or services are introduced in the future, any price will be shown clearly before you choose to purchase them.
No charge will be applied without your explicit action through the relevant App Store purchase process.
Updates and availability
We may update the App as features, system requirements, or supported iOS versions change.
Some updates may be required for the App to continue working correctly.
We may suspend, discontinue, or stop supporting the App at any time.
If support ends, data already stored on your device remains subject to your device and operating-system behaviour.
Third-party services
Intention depends on services provided by Apple, including iOS, the App Store, notifications, widgets, Siri, and Shortcuts.
Those services are governed by their own terms and policies. We are not responsible for outages, restrictions, changes, or failures in third-party services outside our control.
Liability
The App is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
We do not guarantee uninterrupted operation, error-free behaviour, notification delivery, data preservation, or any particular productivity outcome.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for losses or damages arising from:
missed tasks, deadlines, or reminders;
decisions made using the App;
data loss;
device or operating-system failures;
interruption or discontinuation of the App.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time as Intention changes. The current version will be posted on this page, together with its last-updated date.
Continued use of the App after updated terms take effect constitutes acceptance of those terms where permitted by law.
